Don't think too much about the metaphor. Point is...at one such music store Molly and Lavender managed to acquire their own Big Muff pedal for a downright reasonable price. A reissue from NYC, and a real Y2K survivor. Just like us... well mostly. It really does live up to the hype, and makes for a very nice layer of dirt on the treads. Hear it for yourself.
